About Mountain World Treks
30+ Years Trekking in Nepal

Mountain World Treks and Expedition is a locally run Nepal trekking company, founded in 2010 and built on more than 30 years of experience in trekking and guiding across Nepal.

About Us

Mountain World Treks and Expedition was founded in 2010 by Saligram Aryal, but his working life in the mountains began much earlier.

Three Decades on the Trails of Nepal

In 1996, at the age of 14, Saligram started as a porter. His first trek was the Poon Hill route. He carried heavy loads, including 20 liters of kerosene, a kerosene stove, a toilet tent, and his own backpack. The long climb toward Ulleri on that first trek was so difficult that he remembers crying on the trail.

At that time, he was working for a trekking company called Langtang Ri. He was young and still learning, but those first journeys introduced him to the trails, villages, mountain weather, and the people whose lives are connected with trekking.

I still know these paths from those early days.

In 2002, Saligram became a licensed mountain guide. For the next ten years, he worked with different trekking companies and guided groups throughout Nepal. He gained experience on both the popular trekking routes and the more remote parts of the country.

Those years taught him the practical side of guiding. A good guide needs to understand more than a map. Weather can change a route, altitude can affect a trekker unexpectedly, flights can be delayed, and sometimes the best decision is to change the plan. Knowing when to continue, when to slow down, and when to stop comes from experience.

In 2010, Saligram founded Mountain World Treks and Expedition.

What We Do

We arrange trekking, peak climbing, mountaineering expeditions, cultural tours, helicopter tours, sightseeing, and tailor-made journeys in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.

Our Nepal programs include well-known routes such as Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Langtang Valley, Manaslu Circuit, Upper Mustang, and many other trekking areas.

We also arrange trips into quieter valleys and less-visited parts of Nepal for travelers who want to spend more time away from the main trekking routes.

Every traveler comes with different plans. Some are making their first trek in the Himalayas. Others have already travelled through Nepal and want a more demanding route. Some have only a few days, while others have several weeks.

We first look at your time, interests, experience, and the places you want to visit. From there, we work out an itinerary that makes sense for your trip.

Our Team

The people working in the mountains are at the center of our company.

Our guides, porters, drivers, office staff, and local partners handle the different parts of a trip, from airport pickup and transportation to permits, accommodation, and trekking on the trail.

Many of our team members have spent years working in Nepal’s tourism and mountain regions. They know the routes from experience and understand the everyday details that travelers may not see when looking at an itinerary online.

Before your trip, you can speak with us about the route, walking hours, accommodation, altitude, weather, permits, transportation, or any other part of your plan.

How We Work

  • Safety: Mountain weather and trail conditions can change quickly. We check the situation, listen to our guides, and change the plan when continuing is not the right choice.
  • Honesty: We tell you what the trek is really like, including the walking, altitude, cost, weather, and difficult sections. We do not make a trek sound easier just to get a booking.
  • Respect: We walk through villages where people live and work. We respect their homes, customs, land, animals, and the way they live.
  • Local Responsibility: Our trips create work for guides, porters, drivers, lodge owners, cooks, and other local people. We work with people and businesses from the areas where we trek whenever we can.
  • Experience: We use what we have learned on the trails when choosing routes, setting walking days, preparing groups, and dealing with changes during a trip.
  • Teamwork: A trek involves more than the person leading from the front. The guide, porters, driver, office team, lodges, and local contacts all need to communicate and do their part.

Our Mission

To run treks and expeditions that are properly planned, honestly explained, and handled by people who know the mountains and the way things work on the trail.

Our Vision

To keep Mountain World Treks locally run and build its name through the people who work here, the service we provide, and the experience we gain from working in Nepal’s mountains.
